This geek guide reads like a geek's dream. Joke, or serious? You decide. :)
Posted by PyeCat at April 19, 2004 04:52 AMSerious! The Trek and the anime and the computer gaming are all a bit cliche, but other than that, right on target. *g*
Posted by: Thinky at April 19, 2004 01:45 PMOh, the geek characterization is spot on. The dream/joke/serious question relates to the outlandish idea that geeks should be avidly sought-after partners. :)
Posted by: PyeCat at April 20, 2004 04:53 AMNot outlandish at all, as long as we're talking about intelligent, creative women doing the seeking-after. I would never be happy, partnered with a non-geek.
On the other hand, what if the seeker-afters are themselves geeks? Does that skew the model?
Posted by: Thinky at April 20, 2004 05:27 PMThe article seemed to be targeted to a slightly different audience than that, an audience that wouldn't normally target the Geek population. Perhaps I'm biased. :)
On the other hand, why am I complaining? I was FOUND, after all.
Posted by: PyeCat at April 21, 2004 04:35 AMGood point. ;-)
Posted by: Thinky at April 21, 2004 06:11 PMI hate to admit it, but I have always gone for the Ensign Ro type, too...
Posted by: DrSandor at April 22, 2004 04:35 AMYou've got to be careful with those Ro Laren types. You can never tell when they're going to join a rebel group, take a job in another city, or try to turn you back into a vampire ... just to name a few possibilities. :)
