Kinetic Scuptures

This looks like it's an absolute blast. It's too bad we're so spread out around the country/globe; I'd love to see what the lot of us could come up with for an entry:

"Kinetic Sculptures are amphibious, human powered works of art. Each May, Kinetic Sculptures from the eastern United States convene at the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM) on Baltimore's Inner Harbor for the East Coast Championship race. [...] The eight-hour race covers 15 miles, mostly on pavement, but with two segments out in the harbor, one segment of thick mud, and one segment through sand."

Check out their website for some great photos.

Never give an engineer a challenge like this. It probably is a good thing that we're so spread out, or you'd see the most complex edifice known to man gliding down the street ...

But, see, that would be a GOOD thing! ;-)

Seriously, it would be a lot of fun to see what we came up with...

Yes, it would. I see ... a DRD with floats and skids.

And blinking lights. Don't forget the blinking lights.

Yeah ... Xenon blinking lights, to attract attention from blocks away even in daylight ...
