Posted by thinkum at May 10, 2004 08:42 PMIn Illinois recreational vehicles have special liscense plates with the lettering in green and the letters RV on the right side.
My next door neighbor has a RV that is circa 1962, and his liscense plate for it is 1RETRO. It truly is.
Posted by: Noah at May 12, 2004 04:01 AMOne of my siblings went through a period when their annunciation was terrible, so it became my standard Christmas gift to them, that I paid for a vanity plate for them that said "MUMBLS".
My dad, for years before he ever thought of moving out West, considered cowboy hats to be a standard piece of clothing, and wore one every time he went downtown. The town's population at the time was about 2500-3000, so as you might imagine, he became well known for this habit. As a result, we started calling him "COWDAD" -- which is now his license plate.
My current plate has my nickname from childhood on it, and my mom's has her initials. I've been toying with the idea, now that my state allows 7 characters instead of only 6, of changing my plate to "THINKUM"...
